Hansa El Din was also there.

Hans ate a frittata and we saw a cute girl.

I played: “Heart & Soul/Untitled #6” by Me, “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Bob Dylan and “Ice Cream” by Me.

Hans played: “Fiddler A Dram” and then he accidentally played an interpolated version of “Rex’s Blues” by Townes Van Zandt, then he played “Mother Of Earth” by The Gun Club.

We left without talking to the cute girl and went back to my house where we ate gluten free spaghetti and watched VH1.

After a while we got tired of watching television and decided to drink kombucha and listen to music.

We listened to Hans’ new CD.

I liked most of the songs on it but one of them was really scary and I had to skip part of it.

I asked Hans what my favorite song was called and he started talking about pears and hardware stores or something.

He wouldn’t tell me what it was called.

It’s a really great love song and hopefully Hans is going to show me how to play it.

Thanks for listening.

Open Mic #104

Monday, May 14th, I was at the Maize Lounge in Eugene Oregon.

I got there kind of early.

This open mic is hosted by my friend Amblin and he does an awesome job.

He puts out a small deck of playing cards before the list even goes out.

Who ever has the lowest card get’s to sign up first.

I slipped the ace of hearts into my pocket and walked through the big grey door that separates the Maize Lounge and Level Up Arcade.

I played a few games of pinball.

After a few rounds I went back through the big grey door and sat at the bar, I got my self a drink.

When the list came out I was the only one who had picked up a card.

I asked Amblin jokingly what time slot I should sign up for.

Amblin played a really nice set of music and I chatted with another local musician about different open mics around town.

After playing an amazing set of music Amblin called me up to the stage.

I played: “You’re a Big Girl Now” by Bob Dylan, “After All” by Me, “Ice Coffee” by Me, “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga, “Just Like a Woman” by Bob Dylan, “If I Am a Stranger Now” by Ryan Adams, “Ice Cream” by Me and “Moist Vagina” by Nirvana.

After my set some more people showed up and got on the list.

My good friend Hansa El Din played a set, I also saw a few stand up comics including Seth Milstein.

A few friends joined me for a bit and we enjoyed the show together.

All and all some good times.

Thanks for listening.

Open Mic #103

Thanks for listening.

Open Mic #102

Tuesday, May 1st, I was at the Campbell Club in Eugene Oregon for an Open Mic.

The Campbell Club is a very large house in the University district.

They set up one of the main common areas with couches and chairs and there was even a stage set up on one side of the room.

There was no mic but the room wasn’t very big and everyone was very respectful and quiet for everyone’s performance.

I signed up for the number four time slot and ended up playing first.

I played: “You’re a Big Girl Now” by Bob Dylan, “After All” by Me and “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga.

Chris Castles was there with some other very funny stand up comics.

I enjoyed the variety and uniqueness of the acts at this open mic.

It was a lot of fun.

Thanks for listening.
