Tonight I was at Allan Brothers Coffee Company on 5th avenue in Eugene Oregon.
I saw Anthony Clark play a set.
Anthony play’s his guitar upside down.
That’s really not the first thing that you would notice about his music though.
In fact, when you listen to his music you can’t really tell that it’s upside down.
Musical notes can’t really be upside down.
The first time I saw Anthony play I thought he was weird.
The second time I saw Anthony play I thought he was weird.
The third time I couldn’t get his songs out of my head.
Have you ever got a song stuck in your head and you don’t know what the lyrics are but you find your self singing it over and over anyways?
That’s what happens to me sometimes after I hear Anthony’s songs.
I asked him to please print lyrics when he releases an album.
Anthony and are both pretty avid open mic players so we’ve crossed paths a few times over the last few years.
I have really grown to like Anthony’s music and he’ll also be featured in the Fantastic Fall Show on September 29th.
Tonight I played:
“Invisible Movement” by John Frusciante, “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga & “Ice Cream” by Me.
Steve Goodbar hosts this open mic and he does a really nice job with it.
I would highly recommend this open mic to anyone who is interested in getting their feet wet performing in front of an audience.
Go check it out!
Thanks for listening.

A couple of comments:
1. It’s true, I am pretty darn weird.
2. My lyrics are not very good and the stuff I play most of the time nowadays is usually about childhood stuff (HeyHey: “the builders all tacitly resigned, left too much ballast in my mind”, Evening Train: “and I wear it on my sleeve, just a sad reminder of every time I had to leave”, Helena to Bozeman: “oh what’s it mean to be together, I don’t really know”), that feels overly dramatic when I write it out, or about my faltering and usually failed attempts to engage with
the strange beings that inhabit this planetother human beings. Nonetheless, I’ll try to provide some lyrics for you at some point if you’re really interested.what’s your myspace?
