Feel free to stalk me on Twitter at: Talking about playing the Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Oregon Country Fair and plans for a Portland Open Mic tour as well as two new albums. You can find pictures of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic show at: You can find my open mic blog at: Feel free to stalk me on Twitter at:
Mulligan’s Open Mic. Above is a collection of pictures of people at Mulligan’s. Tonight I played at 11:15pm. I guess when your a musician you get used to staying up late. Who am I fooling? I stay up late all the time. It’s kind of funny because I recognize most of the people in the photo above but I couldn’t really tell you any of their names. I know the names of two people in the above image. Sometimes I think that I should introduce my self to people more often. Most people are pretty nice to talk to when you can get up the courage to talk to them. I really like people but I can be kind of shy sometimes. It’s kind of funny, I get more nervous about talking to people then I do about getting up and performing music in front of them. I love to play music and I love to share my love with others. Small talk has often confused me. Like when people ask you how you are doing. Does anyone realize how complicated of a question that is? Yet most people will just automatically respond with “good” or “fine”. Have you ever tried being more honest about how you are really feeling in that moment? Like have you ever had a really bad day and when someone asked you how you were you told them the truth? What do you think would happen if you did? Or what about when people ask you what you do? Also, a very complicated question. We all do so many things in our lives and to just narrow it down to something like: “I work at a movie theater” really doesn’t say that much. Do you ever think about that automatic filters in your mind that prevent you from just saying everything that you think about? I do sometimes. Sometimes I don’t know how much to share with others. Sometimes I don’t know how much to share with you. Like who are you anyways? Who the hell reads a blog about some dude in Eugene Oregon going and playing an open mic? And yet here I am writing to you. That’s right I am writing this for you. Just you. In this moment I am thinking about what you might be thinking as you are reading this. Yes, I am a little bit crazy. If I were reading this right now I might be interested in what songs I had played at the open mic. I started with “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Bob Dylan, next I played “Song To The Siren” by Tim Buckley and finely I played “Ice Cream” by Me. I had fun tonight and it felt good. Thanks for listening.
I found this on a fence near my house and it brightened my day. I thought I would share it with you. This is the kind of vandalism I can really get behind.
My back yard isn’t very big really.
It’s almost been a full year since I posted a picture of my Lady Gaga Calendar! OK, so this isn’t the same calendar. I saw Lady Gaga in Portland almost a year ago too. I like Lady Gaga. |
