Open Mic #31 & #32

Today I did two open mics in a row!

First it was Ron’s Island Grill on Campus.

It was a much different open mic than I am used to.

There are more young people there, which is always really cool for me because I love playing for people who are younger than me and I also love to hear what they are doing.

I played: “Urge“, “Heart & Soul” and “One More Cup Of Coffee

Than it was off to Mulligan’s Open Mic to play: “Urge” on the piano for the first time live ever! Than I switched back to guitar and did “Heart & Soul“, “Earth” and “One More Cup of Coffee“.

Than I went to the WOW Hall to catch the last few songs of Big Head Todd and the Monsters which I really don’t think I needed to go out for, since they didn’t even do an encore and their sound guy didn’t have a clue  ;)

Thanks for listening.

Open Mic #30

Tonight was Open Mic Night at Mac’s at the Vet’s Club.

There was a retirement party double booked with the open mic so it was kind of a strange evening.

I played: “Urge“, “Dreamland“, “Invisible Movement“, “It Ain’t Me Babe“, “Heart & Soul“, “One More Cup of Coffee” and “Stand Alone“.

It’s funny because someone asked me before I played if I played my own stuff and I ended up only playing one of my songs in my set :)

Sometimes I enjoy playing other people’s songs more than my own, I think because sometimes it’s easier for me to really get into the song, I get a little more self conscious when it’s my song, all though when I’m playing Bob Dylan songs I do tend to forget what the words are. :)

Thanks for clapping!

On Wednesday, August 4th, Samuel Ferris Harmon will be playing Cozmic Pizza along with very special guest Hansa El Din!

Open Mic #29

Mulligan’s Open Mic Tonight!

It was a pretty nice night, I saw a really nice set by Robert Meade among many other fine musicians.

I played: “Dreamland”, “After All“, “How Can I Tell You?” and “MJ“.

Sometimes I wonder why I even keep this blog.

When I first started this website I really had no intention of ever blogging.

I wonder sometimes why I do the things I do.

Anyways, thanks for listening!

Open Mic #28

My good friend Amblin was guest hosting the Open Mic at Mac’s at the Vet’s Club tonight!

I played:

“Dreamland”, “Heart & Soul“, “Stand Alone”, “Urge“, “Ice Cream” and “One More Cup Of Coffee“.

It was fun!

Thanks for listening!

Open Mic #27

Ethos Magazine had their open mic today at Rock Java Cafe.

I played:

“Dreamland”, “Heart & Soul“, “Ice Cream“, “Stand Alone” and “Lost Words“.

It’s kind of strange playing that early in the day.

I’m not really used to playing when the sun is still high in the sky.

There was a lot of poetry and and most of it was pretty good.

I really like that Open Mic!

Thanks for listening.

Snoop Dogg & Ice Cube

Tonight I saw Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg live!

I have to say that I liked Ice Cube’s set a lot more than Snoop’s but than again I’ve always enjoyed listening to Ice Cube more than Snoop.

I think that Ice Cube is a better story teller and I like his music better.

Anyways that’s about all I have to say about that.

Open Mic #26

Mulligan’s Open Mic tonight!

I played my steel string Yamaha guitar, it was a mellow night.

I played: “Dream Land”, “Heart & Soul” and “Ice Cream

It was a really nice set.

Thanks for listening!
